Rev. Jasper Peters

he/him/his

Lead Pastor

I was born and raised here in Denver. I grew up in a church that was less than a mile from where Belong is now where both my parents served as pastors. Though I was raised in church, and came to love Jesus at an early age, I also experienced great brokenness in many Christian communities. For a time I walked away from faith completely. I am grateful for the persistent love of God that brought me back into community.

Belong Church has grown out of a recognition that the church is called to invite all of God’s children into community, to be transformed, and to transform the world through justice and mercy. Most of the folks in our community have had moments where the church hasn’t done a great job of living up to that goal, myself included. I am called to a model of pastoral ministry where we walk together, learn together, and support one another to do the work of God’s kingdom.

God has been good to me and full of grace through all my life. Now, though it seems nearly impossible, my vocation is to invite others to recognize and share that same divine love and grace with others. I am lucky enough to be joined by my wife Kimberly, and our two sons who keep our hearts and our schedules full. If you’d like to know more about my story, or the story of Belong Church, can I treat you to coffee?

Rev. Elizabeth Burg

she/her/hers

Pastor of Discipleship

Rev. Elizabeth Burg lives with her wife, three kids, and two dogs in the northern suburbs of Denver. She’s lived in Colorado since 2008 when she relocated from the Midwest to attend Iliff School of Theology. Elizabeth was raised Methodist, and without understanding the tenets of her denomination, she has spent most of her life believing faith and works go hand-in-hand, just like John Wesley.

When she’s not engaged in ministry, Elizabeth runs her copywriting/marketing business, Burg Media Co. She also loves baking, cooking, videography, travel, and any opportunity to adventure with her family.

Executive Assistant

I grew up in Oklahoma. I earned a degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing at Oklahoma State University. I’ve had many different job opportunities over the years, some in education and some in business. I have been in the church my whole life and have a deep love for the church. I always find different ways to serve. My husband is a United Methodist Pastor. With him I have lived in many different ministry settings throughout Oklahoma and now our journey has brought us to Colorado. In my spare time I love going on adventures with my daughters and husband. We often hike and are enjoying exploring Colorado.
